I’m still in disbelief of how fast time goes as a new mama and that I now have a one year old. Obviously, my countless requests for time to slow down while Lexington was growing up were not heard. Despite this, we had a magical weekend celebrating our little lady’s first birthday. We wanted it to be a fun and intimate gathering of our loved ones and it was all of those things and more. Clay and I felt so blessed and grateful to be able to celebrate the day with our closest friends and family but most importantly, Lexi had a ball. We will never know if it was because all of her family and friends were there or the fact that there was sandwiches and popcorn but we’ll claim the win anyway.
A huge thank you to Aunty Jesse (my sis) owner of Louie Luxe for the beautiful floating type and party favors for all of Lexington’s mini friends. To Lucy of Flour and Bell Bakery for her stunning cake. To Grace and Koh for hand making her outfit even though you had a brand new baby to care for, I am so grateful because it was just the perfect get up for our little birthday girl. Also, her swing is from Hang a Hammock and we have hung out on back verandah. She seemed unsure at first but by the end of the party was lapping up that laid back seat like a princess on her throne.
The first year is incredibly special. So many changes happen to daddy, mama and of course the bubba. It’s a huge achievement for all involved, including the village that help you get there. The late night calls when there was the first temperature, the advice you’re pleading for because they won’t go to sleep, won’t eat, haven’t pooed or even have pooed a concerning amount of times! The babysitting gigs because at some point mum and dad need to regain some sort of social life. Oh and the mama vents, thank you to all who copped one or a hundred of those phone calls. Thanks for keeping me sane ladies. But really, thank you to everyone that not only came to celebrate but helped us get through our first year of parenthood. We’re so lucky and we feel it.
First of many years of happiness thanks to our little lady Lexington. Happy Birthday munch, we love you more than any amount of words can express and are so proud of all you’ve learnt and done in the first 12 months.
