Self Love, Start.

Self Love, Start.
April 15, 2015 reviejane

Just now, I have spent some time reading through emails from women around the world telling me extremely personal stories, making me well up over my laptop. Opening up to me about their battles, the issues they face every day and letting me know that I some how inspire them to keep loving themselves, to be more comfortable within their own skin.

I connected to each story that I read, because I have been there. I have looked in the mirror and hated what I saw looking back at me. I have been there, where you wish you could change almost everything about your body. I have been there, where you can’t accept the love and respect from anyone else because you have none for yourself.

I have come a long way since those days and it has been so incredibly challenging. I still battle with it today but no matter how hard that fight is, each day I choose to win that battle.

No matter what you have been through, where you are from, what you have done in the past, what has happened to you, you can over come anything and create a great, happy, healthy lifestyle. I am evidence of this. I was so certain I would never amount to anything growing up until I chose to have faith, to love myself and to see the positives.

Self love isn’t an over night task, it can take weeks, months or years but it takes ONE SECOND to start self love. So start. Start being kinder to yourself. Start appreciating what you CAN do. Start recognising your accomplishments. Realise that you are here for a reason, that you are capable of ANYTHING you put your mind to. Be GRATEFUL that you have so much more than others who don’t have shelter, food or clean water. Acknowledge the people who do love you. Accept kindness and beauty from everywhere, even a stranger who serves you coffee and says ‘I hope you have a nice day’. And for goodness sake, stop the negative self chat. I hear these on a daily basis, all types of negative comments, “I hate ‘X’ about my body”, “I could never do that, I’m so crap at that.”  “I wish I could like her, I hate my body.”  Just quit it or you won’t have any time to notice something awesome you just did or you’ll miss a compliment someone just threw your way.

There are many excuses we can all conjure to not reach our potential, to stay in a place that we are familiar with as we get numb to the pain and comfortable with the negatives but the responsibility of a better life, a positive outlook, a grateful heart, is on YOU. Believe in yourself.

I could dabble on forever about this, that is why I wrote my ebook Dream Big Chase Hard, to provide guidance and inspiration to those who were after it. I hope this helped you too. I can’t express to you how much I wish I could help you all personally, at the same time I’m truly humbled that my posts can impact your life in such a positive way. I am so happy that I decided to put myself out there  and that I opened up to the world. I hope that I continue to motivate, inspire, spread Self Love.

And no matter what, there is always someone there for you, that wants what is best for you, even if they don’t show it. If you’re reading this while you’re waiting for a bus, if you’ve just finished your workout, if you are about to go to sleep – Remember, you are loved.

Love,

Revie x
